It may not have gone according to plan, but Brimley’s goal of raising awareness about diabetes and proper care and treatment has been a tremendous success.
The 83-year-old actor, who describes himself as “a man” on his Twitter account, and still lives in his native Utah, has had type 2 diabetes since 1979.
Wilford Brimley’s Diabetes2 members of my family had type 2 diabetes.
But no one in my family told me about it.
30 years later, I discovered it for myself.
Loved ones don’t always ask you to consider it.

According to Brimley’s condition, his body was producing too much insulin, resulting in high blood sugar and “related problems of insulin sensitivity, blurred vision, frequent eye drops, bone pain, skin issues, and neuropathy.” which affected her feet and ankles.”

New treatment for type 2 diabetes now he’s no longer using it to help publicize the seriousness of the disease. He finds another use for it:
The funny man says he will donate one million dollars to the Diabetes Center at the University of Utah Hospital for treatment research. Brimley has written several books on the subject and has always advocated for “the wiser use of exercise, better nutrition, less meat and sugar consumption, and no smoking”.
He also says that he relies on his own intravenous use of vitamins, herbal supplements, and vitamins B and C when he gets checked out by his doctor. He admits to drinking alcoholic beverages from time to time, but he does so without mixing it with sugar.
I managed my disease very well with a low-fat diet, lots of fruits and vegetables, and very little red meat and sugar. I also took insulin shots, but not as much as you might think. I take 3 insulin shots but am I planning to take oral pills soon.
What can you do about diabetes?
The problem with diabetes is that everyone thinks you need to lose weight, exercise, eat better, blah blah blah.
Well guess what?
If you have diabetes, you may not be able to lose weight, exercise more, and eat better. You can cure your diabetes. You can control your diabetes with diet and exercise. Plus, you can manage your diabetes without diet or exercise. I think at the end of the day, it’s about taking care of yourself. We all want to be the best and have a healthy life.
Brimley promotes a variety of events to benefit the founding of one of his best friends, Sierra Club executive director Michael Brune. The day I met him, the 35th anniversary of Earth Day was drawing near.
There are several things to consider when considering the management of long-term diabetes.
While lifestyle adjustments are necessary, diet and exercise are the first steps to a healthy life, and although research is still ongoing and new procedures are still being developed to better control the disease, early diagnosis and appropriate Treatments are of vital importance.
If you can avoid diabetes, you have a good chance of staying out of the doctor’s office for the rest of your life.
