What I do to help my dad feel better
I try to do something every day to make my dad feel loved and cared. And I know he feels better when I do something to help him. For example, if my mom has to work late, I’ll go to the grocery store with my dad so that he has everything he needs. If she has to go to the doctor or pharmacy, I will go with her. And when he really gets down on his diabetes, I’m going to sit on the couch next to him and talk about everything else.
It is wonderful for both of us to spend time with him. We would laugh together or watch a movie or play a game on his iPad. And most importantly, we’ll talk about how much we love each other.
